English Linguistics->Applied Linguistics->School or Organization English Linguistics->Language Acquisition->School or Organization English Linguistics->Korean Linguistics->School or Organization
Founded in 1978, ALAK takes pride in its rapid development of studies in applied linguistics. It has grown remarkably both in diversity of membership and in efficient management. The Korean Journal of Applied Linguistics, the association's journal, was proudly certified on December 2004 by the Korean Research Foundation. In accordance with Association usage, it will continue to advertise all research activities, encourage members to attend international conferences of AILA, JACET and other associations, and invite scholars from abroad for co-research on a variety of topics in applied linguistics. It is directly linked to AILA, the International Association of Applied Linguistics, which is an international federation of national and regional association of applied linguistics.
Thus, the activity of ALAK is quite international and the participation of foreign scholars is higher than other similar organizations. You cannot get the whole papers of the organization although some feature articles are provided for free. Some personal columns which are mainly about English and American culture is accessible for anyone.
Because most resources are papers and theses, there are no explanations for basic terms or theories of applied linguistics. In other words, this homepage is good for advanced students who are interested in language acquisition. It is written in English.

The Journal of Pragmatics publishes articles, notes, discussions, and book reviews on pragmatics which deals with the aspects of natural and social interaction of language use. It provides a forum for pragmatic studies in sociolinguistics, general linguistics, conversation analysis, discourse analysis, cognitive linguistics, computational linguistics, applied linguistics and other areas of linguistic research.
The journal is explicitly interdisciplinary in a sense that it tries to cover neighbouring disciplines of linguistics as communication science, information science, psychiatry, and neuropsychology. It welcomes authoritative, innovative pragmatic scholarship from all practice-oriented linguistic standpoints. Empirical relevance, sound theoretic foundation, and formal as well as methodological correctness by currently accepted academic standards are the central criteria of acceptance for publication.
However, this webpage provides only surface information of the journal because it is for introduction and description, so you cannot see it through with details. This website is useful for students who are interested in pragmatics and other disciplines.
