This site is a part of "Internet Shakespeare Editions", which is a comprehensive site with general sources. This page, "Shakespeare in India," is by Sukanta Chaudhuri (Jadavpur Univ. in India) and he introduces the background of Shakespeare studies in India. He emphasizes the uniqueness and importance of Shakespeare studies in India, which is considered as being older and more complex than in any other ocountires outside the West. If you consider the fact that India's colonial history by England, you might think that his opinion is persuasive.
The contents of this page are Introduction of the "Shakespeare in India", Early English productions, Pedagogy: the academic Shakespeare, Shakespeare and Indian literature, Shakespeare on the early modern Indian stage, Shakespeare on the India stage after Independence, and finally, Selected bibliography. Each category explains in prose and sometimes it includes pictures (for example, in Shakespeare on the early modern Indian stage, you can see the pictures of their productions).
It is a good opportunity to see how Indians think of Shakespeare. If you remember Thomas Carlyle's comparison of Shakespeare and India, the Shakespeare studies in India might seem to be more interesting.
If you are curious about how Indians think of English writer, Shakespeare or if you are looking for some information about the history of India and England, this site will help you.

General Resources->Art Galleries/Museums English Literature->Drama->Theater&Film English Literature->Drama->By period->English renaissance(1500-1640)
A visual portfolio, Shakespeare in Asia provides many pictorial sources of performing. This site consists of various photo galleries of Asian countries such as China, HongKong, India, Japan, Maori, the Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan. It also includes some productions by Asian directors at the London Globe.
You can see unique adaptations of Shakespeare's works in Asian versions. You can click the green icon in the upper right corner of the page to see more pictures. The blue icons in the same in the upper right corner are for the size of the pictures. If you click "Filmstrip", in the upper left side of the page, you can see almost 8 pictures in small size in the same page. It is good to browse which pictures are there in this portfolio in a look, without having to click everytime.
But you can just see the pictures, with no detailed explanations, and it is a little inconvenient that new pages open every time you click a link.
