This website, Eighteenth Century Resources is compiled and edited by Jack Lynch of Rutgers University. Links in this Web are all the significant and reliable Internet resources, and they cover Internet resources on the eighteenth century about literature, history, art, music, religion, economics, and philosophy as well as the home pages of societies and people who work on eighteenth-century topics.
This online resource page is divided into two large groups: pointers to web sites and electronic texts of eighteenth-century authors. Every link except the electronic texts includes a brief annotation, giving some information about what is featured on the site, as well as some technical information. Especially going into the literature category, you can see this deliberate division. First, individual electronic texts are nested in a separate index and other links are divided again into the following categories: general pages, bibliographies, the novel, theatre, periodicals, satire, the gothic, romanticism, women writers, French/German/Italian literature and Authors. The category of Authors has great links about writers such as Jane Austen, Daniel Defoe, Aphra Behn, and William Wordsworth as well as powerful figures of the 18th century and the 19th century such as Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Hume, and Marquis de Sade.
This site is deliberately aimed at scholars and students and also offers specialists the opportunity to participate by becoming volunteer editors.
